Formerly he has been Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI), the largest Commercial bank in India and has been the Chairman of the subsidiaries and associate banks of SBI Group as well. He is presently on the Board of many other Companies including Securities Trading Corporation of India Ltd., STCI Primary Dealer Ltd. and Asian Paints Ltd.

Non-executive Director of Peerless Securities Limited besides being the Managing Director of The Peerless General Finance and Investment Company Limited. Formerly Director of West-Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Limited and currently in the Board of a number of companies of repute including, Peerless Hotels Ltd. Peerless Financial Services Ltd., Peerless Hospitex Hospital & Research Center Ltd. and President of Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industry and member of Executive Committee of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry.

Currently Director (Operation) of The Peerless General Finance & Investment Company Limited and is also in the Board of a number reputed companies including Peerless Hotels Ltd. and Kaizen Hotel & Resort Ltd. He is also a member of Audit Committee of Peerless Securities Limited. Formerly, he has been Advocate, Honorable High Court at Calcutta.

Formerly Managing Director of Peerless Securities Limited and is a member of the Board of Peerless Financial Services Limited. He is also a member of Audit Committee of Peerless Securities Limited. Previous to joining the Peerless Group, he has held senior positions in the State Bank of India.

He has been associated with The Metal Box Company Limited for a very long time in various positions and thereafter joined A. F. Ferguson & Co. where he held the position of Director. He has also been a Full-time Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad & Calcutta and various other reputed Management Institutes in India including Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai. Appointed to the Board of Peerless Securities Ltd. as Non – Executive Independent Director.

Currently in the Board of The Peerless General Finance & Investment Company Ltd. as Director. He is on the Board of Bengal Peerless Housing Development Company Ltd., Peerless Hotels Ltd., Kaizen Leizure & Holidays Ltd. and a number of prominent companies and President of Indian Chamber of Commerce.

Formerly Managing Director & CEO of SBI Capital Markets Ltd. and Chairman of SBICAP Securities Ltd. He has been a member of the Board of National Stock Exchange of India Ltd., SBI Commercial of International Bank Ltd. and SBICAP (UK) Ltd. before joining the Peerless Group.

Associated with Peerless Group since 1987. As Wholetime Director of the Company, he is responsible for day to day trading operations of Equity Market. He is also in charge of overall branch administration and control in the Eastern Region of the Company.

He has been associated with various reputed companies during his long career like Dunlop India Ltd., Crompton Greaves Ltd., UCO Bank, IFCI Ltd and is presently working as Vice – Chairman & Group CEO of ICRA Ltd. Appointed to the Board of Peerless Securities Ltd. as Non – Executive Independent Director.

Formerly associated with Lovelock & Lewes, Chartered Accountants and M/s. Bird Heilgers Group of Companies before joining Unit Trust of India where he subsequently became an Executive Director of the Company. Presently in the Board of Swaraj Mazda Ltd. and Rama Industries Ltd., he has also been associated with Ray & Ray, a reputed Chartered Accountant Firm as Partner. Appointed to the Board of Peerless Securities Ltd. as Non – Executive Independent Director.
